WOW how things have changed in such a short period of time!!

As we move into the 4th Quarter of 2011, I am always amazed at the changes that have taken place in the real estate school business in such a short period of time.

Just 10 short years ago marketing our real estate school included Yellow Page advertising and classified ads in the local newspaper. Today, all that has changed. Today marketing a real estate school relies on marketing on the Internet, website optimization and social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

In fact, I just noticed on influential college football blogger’s website, www.MrSEC.com, Mckissock is advertising courses on blogger pages. What an effect the Internet has had on marketing today....just unbelievable.

In Florida, some schools are still mass mailing the 14 Hour CE paper textbook at an enormous expense, but that marketing effort has been reduced over the last couple of renewal cycles, probably because of the expense.

Over the last couple of renewal cycles real estate schools, in greater numbers, are doing e-mailing campaign to real estate licensees whose license is up for renewal. The key on this effort is to obtain the correct email of licensees and to get their approval to obtain the email.

Without a doubt, real estate schools are putting much more effort into online marketing their courses. Some schools, including Cooke Real Estate School is doing the same thing.

As the number of classroom school get smaller, the larger schools are moving into various states with just online courses and becoming resellers to smaller schools.

Larger school providers are also buying schools, for because of the down market, real estate schools that have had a significant cash flow are good buys today.

What an interesting world we live in.
